Erik Johnson

Biography:    

Erik Johnson has been in the Victorian Society of Colorado Springs since Spring 2009, but has been involved in Living History and Victorian social activities since the late 1960s. Earliest fun was in the 5th US Cavalry in Tucson, AZ recreating the life of the frontier army. The 1970s and 1980s saw the founding of the Wyoming Frontier Army for Victorian history fans across Wyoming. Erik was involved in elegant balls at numerous historical sites, supported the Wyoming State Museum as a volunteer, and performed demonstrations at grade schools in the Cheyenne area. After being laid off and moving to Colorado Springs to begin a new career, Erik joined the Victorian Society of Colorado Springs. The purpose of it all is to have fun, share the rich heritage of our American history, and introduce people (especially children) to the joys of history.

Duties:    

  • Record and distribute minutes for Board Meetings Record and distribute minutes for General Membership Meetings 

  • Record and distribute committee meeting minutes if requested to do so

  • Order, address and mail Christmas cards

  • Send get well, sympathy, congratulations, thank you, etc. cards to members as appropriate

  •  Prepare meeting agendas if requested by the President

  •  Custodian of official records and seal of the Corporation

  •  Maintain Methods & Procedures documents.  (Content provided by all board members)

  •  Maintain archives of correspondence and legal documents resulting from the business of the Corporation as required by law and as directed by the Board of Directors
